50 years of illustration : quentin blake

Quentin Blake, Britain’s best loved illustrator exhibited in a major retrospective at the Dick Institute in 2004. He was the first ever Children’s Laureate in 1999 and was given the Hans Christian Andersen award for illustration in 2002.

He has produced a formidable body of work over the years, including well loved illustrations for Roald Dahl classics such as The Twits and The Witches, much of which was on display at the Dick.

Quentin gave two talks and book signings in Kilmarnock during the exhibition which were attended by approximately 1800 people.
